Chaos reigns in France " headlines in the Financial Times and the Times. Photos in support with French streets strewn with rubbish, fires in the background, riot police and protesters fighting.

The president submits to the people according to the Daily Mail. Charles III's visit should have sealed the new relationship between France and Britain and celebrated the centuries-old attachment between the two countries, squeaks the Times, for whom the echoes of the revolution were too dangerous.

Safety fears

Emmanuel Macron missed his chance to consolidate his image as Europe's leader. He can say goodbye to the symbol. The king's first visit will therefore not be in France.
