Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation forces stormed early on Sunday the tribal prayer hall in Al-Aqsa Mosque and arrested a number of Palestinians sheltering inside.

The correspondent said that dozens of Israeli police carried out the raid on the tribal prayer hall and forced the protesters to leave it immediately.

Police sent additional troops into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, where they threw stun grenades into the courtyards of the mosque without causing injuries, he said.

The Israeli police also confiscated mobile phones from the protesters and prevented them from returning to the mosque again.

The protesters chanted takbeers in protest against the practices of the occupation police and their forced removal from the mosque.
