The incident in Rinkeby was one of several riots that took place during the Easter weekend in connection with the right-wing extremist Rasmus Paludan's Koran burnings in various cities around Sweden. Five people who participated in the unrest in Rinkeby have now been convicted of aggravated sabotage of blue light activities, and another two for sabotage against blue light activities.

One person has previously been convicted after the Easter riot in Rinkeby and another eleven people have been acquitted in the district court.
