The first Iranian series selected in international competition, "The Actor" (26 x 52 minutes) follows two brilliant unemployed actors who put their talent at the service of individuals, before attracting the attention of a mysterious agency interested in their performances.

In one of the leading roles we find Navid Mohammadzadeh ("The Law of Tehran", "Leila and her brothers").

The award for best actress went to Margot Bancilhon for her role in the series "De Grâce", to come on Arte, a thriller set in the middle of the dockers of Le Havre against a backdrop of cocaine trafficking.

The award for best actor was given to Michael Sheen who, in the British series "Best interests", plays a father fighting to assert the right to live of his daughter with an incurable disability.

The Swedish creation "Blackwater" was crowned best series by the jury of the International Panorama chaired by the writer Hervé Le Tellier, author of the 2020 Goncourt Prize, "L'Anomalie".

In the French competition, the political series "Sous contrôle", soon broadcast on Arte, with Léa Drucker, won the prize for the best series awarded by a jury of the international press.

Also in this category, the prize for best actress was awarded to Clémentine Célarié for her interpretation in the new TF1 series "Les randonneuses", relating the ambitious ascent of a summit in the Alps by six women affected by cancer.

The young actor Carel Brown, of the series "Aspergirl" (on OCS on April 6), was awarded the prize for best actor. He plays the son of Nicole Ferroni, diagnosed with Asperger's at the same time as his mother who hides her autism spectrum disorders in order to maintain custody.

The Lille public rewarded the Canadian drama series "Little Bird" which returns to the roundup in the 1960s in Canada of thousands of Indigenous children to their parents to place them in foster care or have them adopted. It follows a young woman's quest to find her biological family in the 1980s.

According to a first assessment, the Lille festival welcomed 85,000 participants and 3,800 professionals during this 2023 edition, "figures that have largely exceeded our expectations," commented the management in a statement.
