The disease that Benjamin Lind lives with means that important cells in his bone marrow, which make the blood work as it should, are missing. The disease makes it extra dangerous when Benjamin bleeds.

"I once bled nosebleeds for four hours and needed to go to the emergency room. I was pretty scared. I told my mom like this I'm going to die now, as I had lost quite a lot of blood.

Benjamin takes a medication that allows him to live much as usual today, but it probably won't help forever. He needs to undergo a stem cell transplant, but so far no one has been found whose stem cells are similar enough to Benjamin's.

Hear Benjamin himself tell us what can happen if no donor is found and his feelings about it in the clip above.
