• Politics The partners of Yolanda Díaz reject a "bilateral" negotiation with Podemos and ask for a table of parties
  • Politics Order of Podemos to Yolanda Díaz against all its partners: they demand a meeting now and that she campaign

The isolation of Podemos is exacerbated in the reconfiguration of the space of the alternative left to the PSOE. The purple party keeps its swords high with Yolanda Díaz and is determined to erase itself from the presentation of its candidacy for the general elections with Sumar, whose staging will be on April 2 at an event in Madrid. This attitude contrasts with that of the United Left, which for that day has reported a deployment of "practically all" of its federal leadership, with Alberto Garzón at the head, and that of the rest of allies or potential allies, who will also go with their main swords.

If there is no radical change of events, which the parties almost rule out happening, Ione Belarra and Irene Montero will be the great absentees of that act, as well as other leaders and spokesmen of the purple party. "The general secretary of Podemos [Belarra] has to explain what decision she makes," Diaz said yesterday about those absences. "I want Podemos to be in that act, there is no reason why it cannot be, it is an important force in this country," he said.

The political decision of Podemos is not to attend, or to do so in the best of cases with a very low profile, if Díaz does not reach a prior agreement with them on the role he will play in the future candidacy and, especially, if he does not guarantee the conditions of an "open primary" so that the supporters of the future political space decide what is the "weight" that each organization should have in the electoral lists.

Podemos uses its presence as a last trump card to force that agreement before April 2, because if it does not succeed, it knows that it will have to wait until June to negotiate, once the regional and municipal elections have passed, in which its loss of political support in many places may be exposed.

For their part, the partners closest to Díaz are pressing for formal talks to take place after the elections, not at a "bilateral table" with Podemos, but at a table of parties where everyone has a voice, as EL MUNDO reports today.

Podemos remains alone in its pulse while IU, comunes, Más Madrid, Alianza Verde, Chunta Aragonista or Equo will turn to clothe Yolanda Díaz.

IU has confirmed their names on Thursday. And it is an overwhelming deployment with Minister Garzón at the head. Along with him, almost all of the federal leadership of IU will attend, among whom will be its federal spokesperson and MEP, Sira Rego; the parliamentary spokesman and leader of the PCE, Enrique Santiago; and the federal head of Organization, Ismael Gonzalez. In addition, it is expected that most of the coordinators of the regional federations that make up IU will go.

The other pillar of support for Díaz are the commons, which will also make a forceful display, starting with its leader, Ada Colau. In addition to the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Asens, other national deputies and Catalan parliamentarians, such as spokeswoman Jessica Albiach, who is also a member of Podemos, are expected.

Also important is the message sent by Más Madrid. Its two great figures will attend: Mónica García and Rita Maestre. Likewise, leaders of Compromís, Chunta Aragonesista, Verdes Equo or Alianza Verde, among others, will go.

A day before the act of April 2, both Podemos and IU gather their highest leadership bodies, from which very different analyses of the situation can come out. Belarra brings together the so-called Citizen Council and Garzón, the Federal Coordinator. In both meetings they will talk about the May elections and, of course, the situation with Sumar.
