On Thursday, a number of Turks affected by the earthquake ate their first breakfast of the month of Ramadan in shelters consisting of tents and prefabricated housing in the south of the country.

Those affected by the earthquake, which hit 11 states on February 6, were greeted Ramadan away from their homes, which were destroyed or badly damaged.

Several municipalities and associations in Gaziantep province held Ramadan banquets in camps and prefabricated housing gatherings in different places.

Those affected by the earthquake also broke their fast at communal tables in the provinces of Malatya, Adiyaman, Şanlıurfa, Kilis, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye.

According to Anadolu Agency, officials and ministers participated at the iftar tables of those affected by the earthquake that struck the south of the country on the sixth of last February and reached a magnitude of 7.7 and the number of its victims exceeded 50 thousand dead.

Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop was a guest at the earthquake-affected tables in the southern province of Hatay, while Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu broke his fast with those affected in Nurdagi district of Gaziantep province, while Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ was with the victims in Diyarbakır province.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank participated in the first Ramadan Iftar with those affected by the earthquake in Antakya, the capital of Hatay state, while Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoglu participated in the Iftar for those affected by the earthquake in Adiyaman province.

Defense Minister Hulusi Akar was accompanied by commanders of the Turkish forces with military units affected by the earthquake in Hatay province.
