According to information from Bild, Julian Nagelsmann's successor should be Thomas Tuchel, winner of the Champions League in 2021 with Chelsea and dismissed at the head of the Blues at the beginning of the season. According to Kicker, contacts have been made between the Bavarian club and the 49-year-old technician.

Just before the international break, Bayern lost first place in the German league standings to Borussia Dortmund, after its defeat on the lawn of Bayer Leverkusen (2-1), a setback that had provoked the ire of the Bayern management, sporting director Hasan Salihamdzic regretting a lack of mentality and voluntarism as he had rarely experienced.

Already under pressure at the end of the 2021/22 season after Villarreal were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and only the league title, the 35-year-old Nagelsmann is having the club's worst season with Bayern in 11 years, with just 52 points after 25 rounds.

Munich have lost three times (Augsburg in mid-September, Mönchengladbach in mid-February and Leverkusen) and have conceded the draw seven times.

In parallel with a chaotic run in the league, Bayern nevertheless achieved a remarkable flawless performance in the Champions League, with eight wins in as many matches played against opponents as prestigious as FC Barcelona, Inter Milan or Paris SG, with only two goals conceded against the Czechs of Viktoria Plzen.

After the international break, Bayern will host Dortmund on Saturday, April 1 (18:30) at the Allianz Arena, for a Bundesliga Klassiker decisive this season for the awarding of the title.

In the quarter-finals of the C1, Munich travel on April 11 to the Etihad Stadium of Manchester City, before hosting the Citizens of Pep Guardiola eight days later.

Julian Nagelsmann arrived from Leipzig in the summer of 2021 at the head of Bayern, to replace Hansi Flick, the man of the Munich sextuplet in 2020 (league, Cup, Champions League, German and European Super Cups and Club World Championship) became coach of Germany.

Nagelsmann is under contract with Säbener Strasse until the summer of 2026.
