The day after Emmanuel Macron's intervention, a ninth day of mobilization against the pension reform begins this Thursday throughout France, and the anger does not seem to have subsided. Ports, oil depots and access to airports are blocked this morning. In Rennes, high school students are also joining the movement.

This Thursday morning, the chants of the demonstrators resonate on the ring road of Lyon, but also in Caen, Lorient, Dunkirk, where ports, oil depots and incinerators are blocked. In Mérignac, access to the airport is hindered. At the dawn of this ninth day of mobilization against the pension reform, the first since the outbreak of 49.3 and the day after Emmanuel Macron's intervention on television, everywhere, protesters are in battle order.

"The blockade is indispensable"

In Rennes, for example, high school students will join the mobilization this Thursday. Moreover, the day was barely up when five young activists of the Pirate Union of High School Students were already at work to block one of the many entrances to the public high school Bréquigny. Here, garbage bags are piled up in stacked containers. And for young people, the goal is "to block to show that we are there, that we want to be heard," says a high school student.

An observation shared by one of his comrades. "The blockade is absolutely essential because conventional actions do not make the government react at all, let alone Emmanuel Macron," said the young man. "So this is one of the last ways we have left to really show that we will not let this happen, that we think of everyone. It's the social fight that's being played."

Feared demonstration in Rennes

Same organization in front of the Zola high school, in the city center, where it is easier: there is only one entrance to condemn. It is therefore impossible to go to class, except for those who would take exams. In all, nine establishments in Rennes were reportedly blocked this morning. "Then we leave to join the demo at 11 am," says Nathan, of the pirate collective of high school students. A particularly feared demonstration here given the latest excesses last week, after which Gérald Darmanin decided to send a special company of CRS to reinforce it.
