Jordan and Oman announced that Thursday is the first day of the month of Ramadan, after the sighting of the crescent of the blessed month was proven, according to two official sources, according to Anadolu Agency.

The Grand Mufti of Jordan, Abdul Karim al-Khasawneh, said in a televised interview on Wednesday evening that "the Iftaa Department has cooperated with the competent departments to monitor the crescent of the month of Ramadan, and it has been proven that tomorrow, Thursday, is the first of the blessed month."

In turn, the Omani Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced in a statement that tomorrow, Thursday, is the first of the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH, after the sighting of the crescent of the month was proven.

This brings the number of Arab countries that begin fasting the holy month tomorrow, Thursday, to 17, according to Anatolia's monitoring of official announcements, as it witnessed on Tuesday the announcement of 15 Arab countries that the first Ramadan will be on Thursday.

There are five Arab countries that have not announced the sighting of the crescent, namely Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania, in addition to Somalia and the Comoros.
