Former Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Vladimir Churov died at the 71st year of life. According to media reports, he suffered a massive heart attack. In the period from 2003 to 2007, Churov was a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the IV convocation. In 2007, he was appointed head of the CEC, in this position Churov stayed until 2016. Later, he received the status of ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry and supervised the observation of elections to the authorities of foreign countries.
