Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said that the resistance will respond quickly to any Israeli military or security aggression, stressing that Israel's war on Lebanon will lead to the opening of a battle in the entire region.

Nasrallah added – in a speech during an event organized by the party on Wednesday afternoon – that his party's silence on the incident that occurred in the town of Megiddo (northern Lebanon) is part of the political, media and military battle.

"Operation Megiddo confused the enemy at all levels," he said, noting that the party's silence comes within "the psychological media battle with the enemy, as it is not our responsibility to answer what confuses the enemy, and sometimes our answer is not to comment on the incident."

Infiltrated from Lebanon

Last week, the Israeli occupation army announced that one person was seriously injured after an explosive device exploded in the Megiddo junction (north), and said that a person who infiltrated from Lebanon planted it before he was killed by gunfire during his chase.

The occupation army added – in a statement at the time – that the planter of the device infiltrated from Lebanon, and that the occupation is investigating the extent of Hezbollah's involvement in the attack.

The Israeli military later ruled out the suspect using a tunnel to cross the border, noting that he found "how he crossed the fence," without giving further details.

According to Army Radio, the suspect used a ladder to climb a fence between the Lebanese and Israeli borders.

Blue Line

Commenting on the incident, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced in a statement at the time that it had not observed any crossing of the Blue Line in recent days.

The Blue Line was established by the United Nations for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon in 2000, while Lebanon reserves some of the areas through which the line passes in light of Israel's continued occupation of Lebanese territory.

Lebanon and Israel are officially at war, and Lebanon witnessed a bloody war in the summer of 2006, which began with the kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers by Hezbollah operatives. During the war, 1200,160 people were killed in Lebanon, mostly civilians, and <> Israelis, mostly soldiers.
