Blinken was asked whether Beijing had made it clear to Washington that there was a red line regarding the provision of military aid to Taiwan.

"No, if they ever tried to say something like this, we certainly would not take it into account," TASS quoted Blinken as saying.

As previously stated in the Chinese Ministry of Defense, the sale of US weapons to Taiwan is a gross interference in the internal affairs of the PRC. Anthony Blinken, in turn, noted that the US administration believes that it is "vital" for Taiwan to have weapons for defense.

On February 16, the Ministry of Commerce of China added the American companies Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Missiles & Defense to the list of unreliable after they began supplying weapons to Taiwan.
