On the 21st, a cherry blossom planting ceremony was held at a park in Jiangsu Province in eastern China, which is one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in China, and Japan volunteers have continued every year.

For the past 35 years, a group of Japan volunteers has been planting cherry trees every year in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China, and now the number of cherry trees has increased to about 3,<>, making it one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in China.

On the 21st, a ceremony was held with local government officials and others in attendance before the tree planting, and Consul General Shuichi Akamatsu of the Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai gave a greeting, saying, "The cherry blossoms of friendship between Japan and China are the result of the tireless efforts of volunteers through long-term people-to-people exchanges, and I hope that exchanges between our two countries will be further deepened and developed."

Attendees then covered the roots of newly planted cherry trees in the park with soil with scoops and then poured water on them.

Since the strict restrictions on movement due to the "zero corona" policy have disappeared, many people visited the park where the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and enjoyed walking slowly under the cherry blossom trees to see the cherry blossoms and take commemorative photos.

A woman in her 40s said, "I was able to take beautiful photos and I am very impressed by the cherry blossoms. I would like to go to Japan and see the cherry blossoms."
