"We in the HRC will support and promote the proposal to simplify the procedure for depriving citizenship obtained illegally," TASS quoted him as saying.

According to him, in particular, such cases include cases of obtaining citizenship through a fictitious marriage or purchased documents.

At the moment, the court must first recognize the violation of the procedure for obtaining citizenship, and then consider a new claim to declare the citizenship invalid. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the termination of Ukrainian citizenship for Russian citizens from the date of submission of the relevant application to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
