According to the proposal, the nature reserve will be divided into five different zones with different orientations: an untouched zone, low-active, active, highly active and a facility zone (where there is a mountain station, parking, etc.).

The purpose of Vålådalen Nature Reserve is to meet the need for nature conservation and reindeer grazing as well as for outdoor life. The delimitation of the proposed zones is based partly on the frequency of visits and partly on the need for protection of high nature values.

For each zone, different regulations or recommendations are proposed. For organized outdoor recreation, there will be more restrictions in the pristine and highly active zones and fewer restrictions in the others (low-active, active-, facility-zone).

Most corrected closest to the village

The construction zone, which is closest to the village of Vålådalen, can receive the most visitors and should constitute the most accessible zone with good information, rest areas, fireplaces, dry toilets and corrected trails, etc.

Shortly, the County Administrative Board is expected to make a decision on the future of Vålådalen Nature Reserve, i.e. whether zoning should be introduced and what other regulations will apply.
