The separatism took advantage of the Government's proposal to the European delegation investigating the Pegasus case to inoculate its message to the EU envoys arrived in Madrid and point to the State as responsible for the wiretapping that affected 65 Catalan separatists, including the last four presidents of the Generalitat.

The fact that neither Pedro Sánchez nor the two ministers who suffered the espionage of the Pegasus program – that is, Fernando Grande-Maralska and Margarita Robles – attended to the emissaries of the European Parliament was squeezed by the representatives of ERC, Junts and the CUP, who made an effort to convey to them that the "obstructionism of the Spanish State" to the investigation is only explained because "it is behind the espionage". This was stated by the spokesman for Junts, Josep Rius, who wished that the European investigation "finds" that "the Government has not wanted to collaborate because it has things to hide."

"We have raised to the European Parliament the boycott of the Spanish State to the investigation of a case of massive espionage that has violated fundamental rights," added the spokeswoman of ERC, Marta Vilalta, who recalled that the Government also opposed the creation of a commission of inquiry in Congress on the case and that none of its members wanted to collaborate with the open in the Parliament to clarify the wiretapping. The Catalan Chamber intended to have the version of Sánchez, Robles, Marlaska and the former Minister of the Presidency, Carmen Calvo, among others and will denounce their non-appearance before the Prosecutor's Office.

ERC, Junts and the CUP defended activating article 68.3 of the regulation of the Parliament that states that if the person summoned voluntarily disregards the requirement to appear before a commission of inquiry, the Bureau will have to report to the Public Prosecutor's Office, in order to substantiate the criminal responsibility that may correspond.

The CUP stressed to the MEPs that the State "recognized espionage by dismissing the president of the CNI, Paz Esteban" and maintained, through its deputy Montserrat Vinyets, that "there is no guarantee that other departments, such as the Ministry of the Interior or the Ministry of Defense are behind espionage." For Marlaska and Robles he asked for the resignation for this reason.

The Catalan independence movement will deepen its message on Tuesday, when the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, and the Minister of Foreign Action of the Government, Meritxell Serret, meet with the members of the European mission that investigates the use of the Pegasus program.

This second round of contacts between secessionism and MEPs will be tarnished, however, by Vox's motion of censure. ERC considers that the Government has "counterprogrammed" the EU envoys to justify the refusal of Sánchez and his ministers to collaborate with the investigation.

The presence of the European mission in Madrid has served to reunify punctually a separatism that transits divided by the Catalan legislature, after Junts left the Government and Aragonès approved the Budgets with the PSC.

The joint appearance of the representatives of the neoconvergents, the republicans and the anti-system is unheard of, especially after ERC and the CUP refuse to recognize the former president of the Parliament, Laura Borràs, as a victim of the supposed "general cause against independence".
