Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to arrive in the Russian capital Moscow soon.
The two leaders are scheduled to exchange views at an informal dinner afterwards and attend a summit meeting on June 21, and it is believed that they want to further deepen their strategic relationship with the opposing United States in mind.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will make an official visit to Russia from the 20th to the 22nd, and is scheduled to arrive at the airport on the outskirts of Moscow on the evening of the 20th, Japan time.

On the 21st, a summit meeting between President Xi and President Putin is scheduled to take place.

This is the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders since September last year, and the first visit by President Xi to Russia since Russia's invasion of Ukraine began.

Prior to the visit, President Xi wrote an article in Russian media stating that "China should focus on the development and revitalization of the two countries and add new driving moments," and that China would play a constructive role in the situation in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Russian President's Office says that President Putin will hold an informal one-on-one dinner with President Xi on the evening of the 9th, with only an interpreter.

Ushakov, an adviser to the Russian President's Office, said, "We will discuss the most important and sensitive issues related to our two countries, including the international situation, and this will be the most important discussion of this visit," indicating that it will be an opportunity for a frank exchange of views on the situation in Ukraine and other matters.

In the series of meetings, the two leaders are expected to further deepen the strategic relationship between the two countries, keeping in mind the rival United States.
