This Tuesday, the day after the vote of the two motions of censure on the pension reform, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne invites several ministers to lunch at Matignon. The idea is to show that the ministers "support" it in the adoption of the pension reform.

Elisabeth Borne, who faces two motions of censure Monday after her appeal to 49.3 for an adoption without a vote of the pension reform, invited several ministers to lunch Tuesday in Matignon, AFP learned Monday from concordant sources. After the probable rejection of these motions in the Assembly, this lunch aims to show that the ministers "support" the Prime Minister, appointed to Matignon on May 16, said an adviser to the executive.

Elisabeth Borne must stay, assures Clément Beaune

Asked about the invitation to lunch, one minister said yes. "I think, I hope, that the government will continue to govern under the authority of Elisabeth Borne," Transport Minister Clément Beaune told franceinfo on Monday morning. "It can and must stay. (...) She is a politician, a politician who is needed in the coming months at the head of the government of the France," he added.

The National Assembly will examine Monday from 16 pm two motions of censure against the government of Elisabeth Borne that are unlikely to be voted, paving the way for the final adoption of the pension reform despite the anger in the country that does not abate.
