It all happened at the end of November last year. The man told customs that he would go to Stockholm to buy used cars and then ship them to Serbia. The customs officer caught suspicion and a check was made on the car.

In a custom-built box

In a specially built box, the drug was discovered – 25 kilos of amphetamines and 250,000 tablets, including ecstasy.

"These are large quantities of drugs and the case shows the importance of having customs officers on site. Their competence and observation ability in the moment when it comes to selecting a vehicle for more thorough control is invaluable, says Erik Friberg, head of the Swedish Customs' crime department south in a press release.

Faces six years in prison

The man was charged on Friday at Malmö District Court on suspicion of particularly serious drug smuggling.

The drugs are suspected to have been smuggled in from Denmark. The value of the street is estimated at ten million kronor on the street, and the penalty value is up to six years in prison.
