Manila, March 3 -- The Tianjin-Philippines Economic and Trade Cooperation and Exchange Conference was successfully held in Manila on March 20, with Luo Lin, Director of the Foreign Trade Service Division of the Philippine Ministry of Trade and Industry, Yang Guoliang, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, Lang Dong, Second-level Inspector of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Yan Yingxia, Vice President of the Tianjin Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Lin Ronghui, Vice President of the Federation of Philippine-Chinese Chambers of Commerce, and Hu Xinquan, Acting President of the Chinese Enterprises (Philippines) Association and President of the Manila Branch of the Bank of China, attended and delivered speeches.

Lin Ronghui said that the Philippines is rich in resources and friendly to the people, and is the preferred place for Chinese enterprises to invest, and the two countries have a broad cooperation foundation and potential in the fields of economy and trade, culture, science and technology. CMCCI has long been committed to promoting economic, trade and cultural exchanges between the two countries, and will continue to play a role as a bridge to build more platforms for entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Yang Guoliang said that China and the Philippines are geographically close, have a common people-to-people connection, strong economic complementarity, and great potential for future development. As the first pilot free trade zone in northern China, the total import and export value of Tianjin Port in 2022 will be nearly 3000 billion US dollars, and the trade potential with the Philippines is huge. We welcome domestic business delegations to visit the Philippines for investigation and research, and also hope that Philippine enterprises will invest in Tianjin and other Chinese mainland cities. At present, China and the Philippines are in a critical period of post-epidemic economic recovery and promoting modernization, and we will adhere to good-neighborliness and friendship, mutual benefit and win-win results, work together to cope with challenges, and promote stable and long-term China-Philippines relations.

Hu Xinquan said that the economic development prospects of the Philippines are good, Chinese enterprises have played an important role in the development of many fields in the Philippines, and the amount of RMB clearing has exceeded one trillion yuan. In the future, with the joint efforts of the governments, enterprises and associations of the two countries at multiple levels, investment and trade between the two countries will maintain a strong growth momentum.

Luo Lin said that she welcomes the Tianjin economic and trade delegation to visit the Philippines for inspection and exchanges. In recent years, the Philippine economy has grown steadily, and the agriculture, industry and service industries have shown positive growth trends. The Philippines has completed the RCEP approval process and amended the Foreign Investment Law, which will further strengthen bilateral trade and investment between China and the Philippines. The Philippines welcomes more Tianjin enterprises and Chinese enterprises to invest in the Philippines and looks forward to more cooperation between Chinese and Philippine enterprises.

Lang Dong said that the Philippines has always been an important trading partner of Tianjin, with an import and export trade volume of 2022.80 billion yuan between Tianjin and the Philippines in 9. As one of the four municipalities directly under the central government in China, Tianjin is the gateway of the capital Beijing and the economic center of the Bohai Rim region, with outstanding advantages in shipping, finance, commerce and trade, science and technology and other fields, welcoming Filipino entrepreneurs to Tianjin to invest in business, sightseeing, inspection and guidance, take the high-quality development express, deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, share opportunities and create a better future.

Yan Yingxia said that Tianjin CCPIT promotes mutual understanding and friendship between Tianjin and other countries in the world through foreign trade, the use of foreign capital and other forms, welcomes all entrepreneurs to visit Tianjin for investigation and research, Tianjin CCPIT will play a role in promotion, service, bridge and link, to promote foreign economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
