The electoral mode that the Community of Madrid has launched continues its course after managing to stop, economic compensation through, the health strike in Primary Care, which for five months affected the region. This week it has also offered an increase in compensation to those affected by Metro Line 7B. The new objective that the regional government has set itself is Education, another sensitive sector on the way to the polls.

In addition to the salary increase that the president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, announced last September during the celebration of the Debate of the State of the Region, the regional Executive has set itself the objective of "reducing the bureaucracy faced by the management teams and teachers of the public centers of the capital". As EL MUNDO has learned, for this the Ministry of Education will invest 22.3 million in the hiring of 820 personnel of Administration and Services (PAS), which is specifically responsible for these tasks and thus teachers, directors and heads of studies are discharged from them. Sources from the department of Enrique Ossorio point out that the measure will begin to be applied with the start of the 2023-2024 academic year and that the incorporations will grow the workforce by 16%, from the current 5,125 to 5,945.

In the Ministry they affirm that what is sought with these new additions is "to alleviate part of the administrative and bureaucratic work of directors, teachers and professors so that they can devote more time to the attention of the students" in the public centers of the region. That is, to free them from these tasks so that they can focus their attention on the tasks of teaching and caring for students.

The current staff of auxiliaries in the Community of Madrid is made up of 5,125 personnel, which are divided into 2,132 control and information managers, 1,781 administrative staff and 1,212 service operators. These new admissions will add 200, 500 and 120 more in each of these categories, respectively, as teachers have been requesting for some time.

Within this hiring policy, the Ministry of Education will also address the incorporation of 4,262 new teachers for the next school year. Of these, 2,761 correspond to the replacement rates of the bodies of Secondary, Official Schools of Languages, Music and Performing Arts, Plastic Arts and Design and teachers of Workshop of Plastic Arts and Design, since many of these categories had a significant deficit, especially in Language Schools.

In addition, the regional government intends to convene another 667 positions for the selective stabilization process for these same categories. To these are added the 834 places of the admission procedure by the exceptional merit contest system, which were published in November 2022 in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM).

The staff of teachers in the Community of Madrid in centers that are financed with public funds amounts to 86,389. And the regional government will still have to incorporate more assistants to take charge of the opening of schools outside school hours announced by the president for the next course.
