Donald Trump has posted on social media that he will be arrested next Tuesday, as a New York prosecutor is considering possible charges in a case examining money paid to silence women who alleged they had sexual encounters with the former president.
Trum, in a publication on his network Truth Social, says that in the early hours of Saturday "illegal leaks" from the Manhattan district attorney's office indicate that "the Republican candidate leader and former president of the United States of America will be arrested on Tuesday."
Trump urged his supporters to protest. Law enforcement officials in New York have begun taking security measures against the possibility of Trump being indicted.
