After 197 programs, Rafa Castaño (32) has been the winner of the highest jackpot in the 23-year history of Pasapalabra by taking 2,272,000 euros. In one go. Without hesitation. And he has quite a few seconds left. His opponent, Orestes Barbero (26) has also been one of the most notable minds and both have drawn 64 times. With a contained joy, the Sevillian can now sleep peacefully and rest because since he arrived at the contest on June 1 last year the stress has been taking its toll.

But he is already used to dealing in these parts because television contests are one of his great passions. In fact, he began participating as soon as he reached the age of majority. Born in Seville in 1990, he is the second of three boys from a middle-class marriage in which the father worked at an air base as a civilian staff and his mother worked as a primary school teacher.

Since childhood he got the bug to learn. In this sense, his mother was instrumental in teaching him to read and retain. Without being aware, Rafa was acquiring a memory capacity that, as his brother Alberto has told the program, "would be worthy of studying." His great passions are music, continuing to study and, above all, reading.

During his childhood and adolescence he fell in love with video games. They became an addiction. He also lost his mind with the cinema, getting to see six or seven movies on weekends he had free while studying the career.

He graduated in journalism at the University of Seville and obtained a master's degree in Communication and Culture that allowed him to work in the communication cabinet of the City Council between 2015 and 2017. Despite these qualifications, he decided to leave his profession as a journalist because he considered that the psychological wear and tear did not correspond to the salary. Hence, in 2018 he changed sectors and invested with several partners part of the money won in previous contests in a business adventure called Chaotic. Bookstore and Cultural Space, located in the center of Seville.

Rafa has simple tastes, to enjoy the day to day and always takes time to be surrounded by the people he loves. He is passionate about cats, the one he has is called Darro in honor of a river from Granada, and is a fan of Betis, who came to name him outstanding bético after winning 50 programs in the contest Saber y ganar.

Very jealous of his private life, yesterday he mentioned his girlfriend after overcoming the donut. He has no children. With the Pasapalabra pot he plans to cover some holes in the bookstore, pay off the mortgage on his house and give a part to his family. With the rest of the money he wants to travel and deposit it in a conservative investment fund.
