Putin recalled that the company opened promising air routes, participated in the development of the Arctic and other territories, and also put new equipment "on the wing".

The head of state called Aeroflot the largest aviation holding in Russia and noted the high qualification of its specialists.

"We will always remember the courage of pilots and other civil aviation workers shown by them during the Great Patriotic War," he added.

Aeroflot CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky said earlier that the company's fleet by 2030 will consist of 70% of Russian aircraft.

According to him, the first import-substituted MS-21 is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2024.
