Po Tidholm led a conversation between Jörgen Stenberg and Lisa Röstlund at Littfest in Umeå. Stenberg spoke from his perspective as a reindeer herder in a forest Sami village. Lisa Röstlund is a journalist at DN and spoke based on the review of the forest industry that she has done. Her book "Skogslandet" came out last year and has attracted a lot of attention.

"It's such hugely divergent interests that are at odds with each other. And a very high tone and strong economic forces fighting against being scrutinized," she says of the review.

"Commitment leads to change"

They both agree on how important it is to talk about the forest and the forest industry.
And the importance of it being done on the literary scene.

"This is a sign that forest management is extremely topical, the mismanagement of the forest," says Jörgen Stenberg.

What do you think about a book elevating the discussion, and more people getting involved in the forest issue?

"In general, I'm very bitter and less about these issues because you've lived in this problem since you were born. When you are still out meeting people like this, you feel that there is a commitment and that is what leads to change, says Jörgen Stenberg, reindeer herder in Malå Sami village.
