The facility has, among other things, a 36-meter-high warehouse that will hold 58,000 pallets of goods and the goods reception has the capacity to receive 99 trucks at the same time.

Recruitment has been underway for three weeks and according to Ulf Axelsson, head of the terminals at Coop Logistik, several thousand job applications have already been submitted. Many of the applicants are from Eskilstuna.

"There's a huge amount of interest," he says.

Many women are looking for

Something that can be seen already now is that there are an unusual number of women who have applied for the warehouse jobs, they make up about 30 percent of the applicants.

"Historically, I would say that we are perhaps at five percent, in terms of how many women work at Coop's warehouse," says Ulf Axelsson.

Internally, the company has recruited about 150 employees and will now hire another 300.

The plant will be commissioned after the summer and is expected to be fully operational in the summer of 2024.
