Here are the most important Levantine series that we recommend you to follow in Ramadan 2023.

Ulna: Orontes Wolf

Arguably the most awaited Syrian series in Ramadan 2023 is "The Ulna: The Wolf of the Orontes". Set in a socio-political context during the pre-World War I period, the work highlights the family of Assi al-Zend, who returns from military service and has been embroiled in a plot hatched by some of the most powerful figures in the Levant, which presents him with very difficult challenges.

Starring Tim Hassan, Mona Wassef, Dana Mardini, Anas Tayara, Fayez Kazak, Tarek Abdo and Yahya Mahayni, and written by Omar Abu Saada, it is a new collaboration added to the successful artistic partnership between Tim Hassan and director Samer Al-Barqawi.

Ezz Jam

Among the most important Syrian series this season is "Jam Al-Ezz", not only because it includes a group of the strongest Syrian stars such as Abbas Al-Nouri, Mahmoud Nasr, Amal Arafa, Khaled Al-Qish and Nadine Tahseen Bey, while it was written by Moeen Al-Saleh and directed by Rasha Sharbatji, but because the plot takes place within 3 Damascus neighborhoods, specifically between 1900 and 1919.

During the work, we witness the conflicts and disputes that were hatched in order to obtain the leadership of the neighborhoods, and the consequent heavy dramatic events during which the social, economic and political problems witnessed in the Damascus neighborhood at that time are monitored.

Al-Arbaji

In the series "Al-Arabji", the star Bassem Yakhour plays the role of Arabji, who works in transporting goods on a horse-drawn cart, one of the professions known in the past in Damascus. But his life is completely upended when he falls in love with a woman who washes the dead but does not share the same feelings with him, so he decides to do the impossible to reach her heart, which entails many complications and brutal conflicts.

Written by Othman Juha and directed by Seif Eddine Sbaie, the film stars Salloum Haddad, Dima Qandalaft, Tarek Maraashly, Milad Youssef, Nadine Khoury, Fares Yaghi and Wael Zeidan.

Djinn Alley

"Alley of the Jinn" is a social drama series, written by Mohamed Al-Aas and directed by Tamer Ishaq, while starring Ayman Zeidan, Shukran Murtaja, Amal Arafa and Abdel Moneim Amayri. Set in the capital Damascus, the work reviews a series of social conflicts between the protagonists who inhabit an old alley, in a dramatic framework that reflects the evils of the human soul and its insides.

The money of the captain

Bassam Koussa, Sulaf Fawakherji, Khaled Al-Qish and Hala Rajab are the protagonists of the series "Mal Al-Qabban", which was written by Yamen Al-Hajli and Ali Wajih, and directed by Seif Al-Din Al-Subaie. It is one of the highly anticipated works because of its dramatic theme, as it reviews the real and daily problems that Syrian society is currently experiencing, and the success of the work is expected, especially as it is a new collaboration between the authors and the director after the series "Suspended Execution" and the series "On a Hot Tin Plate".

North Roundabout

"Northern Roundabout" or "Compulsory Path" is one of the daring series of this season, as the work addresses from a social drama perspective the issues of religious extremism and the issue of coexistence between religions and their consequences on citizens and politics, especially in the nineties in Syria. Written by Hazem Suleiman and directed by Amer Fahd, the championship is shared by Abdel Moneim Amayri, Fayez Kazak, Ahmed Al-Ahmad, Nancy Khoury and Amal Bouchoucha.

New seasons of successful Syrian series
