It was a dramatic start to the proceedings on Thursday when an altercation outside the district court arose in the first intermission. Outside the district court's premises, there were tumultuous scenes when about 15 people got into a fight. No one was seriously injured.

According to information to SVT, relatives of the victim were on their way out of the district court during a break and then got into an argument with people who, according to the police, sympathize with the defendant, who was on his way in.

The Defense: Weaknesses in the Prosecution

When the accused 22-year-old appeared in court on Thursday, lawyer Ulrik Smedberg was critical of the prosecution's evidence against his client.

"It's weak, there's no evidence of who shot," he says.

The prosecutor believes that your client has done this in consultation and agreement with one or more people. How do you see it?

"It's a bit surprising, I haven't seen a single piece of evidence that would substantiate any planning," Smedberg says.

Critical of the Crown witness

As SVT Nyheter Väst previously reported, an important part of the prosecution's evidence is a crown witness. That is, a person who, by testifying against the suspect, can receive punishment relief for his own crimes. The Crown witness will testify later in the trial. The person has previously said in questioning that he was next door to the 22-year-old murder suspect and that they could clearly hear each other, where the murder suspect allegedly confessed to the crime, according to the witness.

But Ulrik Smedberg believes that the credibility of the crown witness's information is not reliable.

- I just don't think they're true. I have serious doubts about the crown witness system.
