“A foreign IT specialist working in an accredited IT company, as well as members of his family ... have been granted the right to obtain a residence permit in the Russian Federation without a validity period in a simplified manner,” the Russian Interior Ministry said in a statement.

To obtain a residence permit, a specialist and his family members need to contact the migration unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the place of residence and provide an employment or civil law contract for the performance of work with an accredited IT company, a document on education in the field of information technology, as well as a document confirming the degree kinship for family members.

The term for consideration of the application is three months.

It is clarified that accredited IT companies can attract foreign specialists without obtaining special permission.

In September, experts from the Get experts recruiting company and the Russian School of Management interviewed employers and found out how personnel policy has changed against the backdrop of the socio-economic transformations that have taken place over the past six months.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the country is open to highly qualified foreign specialists in the IT field.
