"Everything came as a surprise in terms of inflation. But at the moment I cannot say for sure, here much will depend on the result of our actions," she said.
Lagarde added that in the forecasts of the European Union, inflation is indicated at the level of 7%, but this is "a slightly underestimated figure."
"Inflation is probably higher," the official added.
Earlier it became known that the level of annual inflation in Germany in February, according to the final estimate of Destatis, was 8.7%.
