The Joint Joint Committee (CMP) meets this Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. in the National Assembly to find a consensus on the pension reform.

If there is little suspense on the agreement which should be found, each party nevertheless defends its positions, and certain measures voted in the Senate could fall by the wayside.

This is a new step for the pension reform.

The bill must pass this Wednesday to reveal the Joint Joint Committee (CMP), which brings together from 9 am in the National Assembly seven senators and seven deputies representative of the political balance of the two chambers.

These 14 elected officials will try to find a consensus on the text, and if there is little suspense on the agreement which should be found, each will nevertheless defend their positions.

Indeed, the government is open to several proposals, provided that it achieves a balanced budget by 2030, a red line recalled by Emmanuel Macron on Monday in front of his relatives.

So, among the measures that should be included in the final text, there is that of the Republican senators in favor of mothers which grants a 5% bonus in the event of departure at 64 years of age.

The cost of the measure is estimated at 300 million euros.

Questioning the long career scheme

The other main measure added to the Senate could however be recalibrated.

This is the CDI seniors, a contract exempt from family contributions for those over 60 years old.

This measure would cost 800 million euros, according to the Minister in charge of Public Accounts, but this amount is disputed by Bruno Retailleau, the leader of the LR senators.

The latter could nevertheless agree to give up on it, because the proposal could again be debated in the Labor bill, presented in the spring by Minister Olivier Dussopt.

Finally, the real debate will focus on the long career system.

An insistent request from certain LR deputies who want to integrate all workers who started before the age of 21.

However, the measure is too expensive for the government which should not retain it, even if it means losing precious votes in view of a vote in the National Assembly.
