Not since 1951 have Swedish food prices risen as they do today. The new inflation figures presented on Wednesday morning suggested that inflation is now up to 9.4 percent - and that it is food prices that are driving, according to Statistics Sweden.

Many goods have taken off considerably in the past year, but the most expensive has become the leek. The price has risen by a staggering 80 percent since February 2023.

Peppers have also stung away, up 54 percent over the same period.
