Christian Democrats' party secretary Johan Ingerö has left his post after being reported to the police by a party colleague. According to Ingerö, who has written about the case in a Facebook post and in which he denies the allegations made against him, the complaint is alleged to have occurred at an after-party in connection with an election vigil in 2014.

Now Christian Democrats party leader Busch is commenting on the complaint in a written statement.

"Regardless of the reason why Johan is leaving his post, the report raises questions about Johan's ability to fulfill his position of trust," she said in the comment.

"Focus on building the organization strong"

According to Ebba Busch, the party leadership has been aware of the data since January 29 this year. Talks are said to have been held with the two parties and the whole thing has been handled as a personnel matter that can be the subject of a legal process.

"Being party secretary is an important position of trust where different abilities are needed in different times. As party leader, it is my assessment that for the time that comes, primary focus is needed on building the organization strong, and a person who prepares the party for the upcoming elections in the long term. It is an important background for the change we are now implementing", says Ebba Busch.

Deputy Party Secretary Fredrik Noreback will step in as deputy until a replacement is appointed.

"This is now a matter for the Police Service. Out of respect for the people involved, no further comment is made," Busch said.
