A 54-year-old teacher of the College of Early Childhood and Primary Education (CEIP) Nuestra Señora del Pilar, in Don Benito (Badajoz), has passed this Wednesday to judicial disposition for an alleged continuous crime on moral integrity and injuries on children between three and four years of this center. The teacher was arrested on Tuesday by agents of the National Police, within the actions carried out by the Court No. 2 of this town, following a complaint from the parents of the students due to the alleged "humiliating treatment" that she gave in her Primary class to the minors.

The teacher was removed from work a few days ago as a result of the file opened administratively by the Ministry of Education after the complaints filed. After spending the night in police stations, the teacher has given a statement and the owner of the case has ordered her provisional release with charges with the obligation to appear in court on the 1st and 15th of each month. In addition, it has not adopted any measure of distance as the suspension of employment and salary of the investigated has already been agreed administratively, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura.

The facts investigated allegedly began in 2019 when the mother of one of the minors alerted the educational center about the treatment given by the teacher to the children. Subsequently, more relatives of students reiterated this version, although the complaint in police stations was not filed until March 2.

In addition, the head of the Court also investigates a former director of the school and an inspector of Education in case they had responsibility in what happened to allegedly have knowledge of what was happening and not act or have made decisions about it. The investigation is still ongoing.
