The maximum term of imprisonment is up to 15 years, the fine is up to 5 million rubles.

Earlier, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said that amendments to the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Offenses on liability for discrediting participants in a special operation in Ukraine were submitted to the State Duma for consideration.
