Chinanews.com, Taipei, March 14th. The Mutual Aid Association for Political Victims in Taiwan held a spring festival and grave-sweeping event in Taipei on March 14. Political victims, families of the victims, and people from all over Taiwan participated in the memorial ceremony.

  The memorial ceremony was held in the Liuzhangli Memorial Cemetery in Taipei City.

Zhou Hongqi, president of the Political Victims Mutual Aid Association in Taiwan, read out the sacrificial oration. He said that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the discovery of the historical site of the Liuzhangli Abandoned Burial Area.

Over the past 30 years, the Mutual Aid Association has continued to promote the preservation and maintenance of the historical site of Liuzhangli, holding spring festivals every year, in order to remember the original intention of the ancestors and realize the last wish of the ancestors to pursue national rejuvenation.

  Zhou Hongqi said that we should appreciate and learn from the patriotic spirit of our ancestors, and remind people to undertake the historical task of national rejuvenation.

"We believe that the two sides of the strait will eventually achieve reunification, and the Chinese nation will surely rejuvenate."

  In the 1950s, the remains of the victims of the White Terror in Taiwan were dumped around the Liuzhangli cemetery; in the early 1990s, people found a large group of covered graves near Liuzhangli, and many families of the victims and survivors were shocked after hearing the news. Come on, start digging, cleaning, identification, etc.

  Also participating in the memorial ceremony on the 14th were civil organizations such as the Taiwan Labor Party, the Taiwan United Alliance Party, and the Summer Tide Federation.

The Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League entrusted representatives of the Mutual Aid Association to present flowers.
