“
The working session was more technical than political, we spoke very little about security
,” explained the Beninese president.
On security, the Nigerien head of state is satisfied with the results of the fight against terrorism.
“
What we have done so far has adequately met our expectations and we have encouraged our security and defense forces to continue this cooperation
,” he said.
Patrice Talon said the same thing then added that
relations between the two countries
are very good.
Niger is a major customer of the port of Cotonou, its carriers use the corridor to transport their goods.
Today, a new trade relationship is emerging between the two countries around oil.
"
We have decided that we evacuate our oil from the port of Cotonou, this commitment is an irrevocable commitment and we will always ensure that our relationship is harmonious and profitable to our two countries
", assured Mohamed Bazoum.
Significant income
The
pipeline
will pay big dividends in Benin, according to its president.
“
If we have so many expectations and enthusiasm for the exploitation and export of Nigerien oil, it is because there is an interest in Benin,
underlined Patrice Talon.
The passage of oil will generate revenue for the Beninese state in terms of royalties and this is very important.
