John Kirby: US will continue to fly over the Black Sea, despite the incident with the drone

The US does not need confirmation from Russia to fly over international waters, the official said.

“If they want to send a message about their desire to keep us from flying over the Black Sea, this will not happen,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

On March 14, the US European Command announced that a Russian Su-27 hit the propeller of an American MQ-9 drone over the Black Sea, after which the drone fell into international waters.

US President Joe Biden was informed of the incident.
