Ukraine accuses two Russian soldiers of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl and gang-raping her mother at gunpoint and in front of her father, allegations that come amid numerous suspicions of abuses committed since the invasion of the country by Russia.

According to Ukrainian prosecution files seen by Reuters, the incidents are part of a series of sex crimes committed by soldiers of the 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade at four houses in Brovary, a Kyiv suburb, in March 2022.

  • 10:07 a.m.: Discussions continue on grain deal, says Turkey

Russia announced on Tuesday that the deal on grain exports through Black Sea ports had been extended for 60 days but Ukraine said it was sticking strictly to the terms of the arrangement, which only provides for an extension period of 120 days.

Turkey, which is mediating on the issue with the United Nations, said talks were continuing.

The current deal is supposed to expire on March 18.

Russia does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted by the Tass news agency as saying on Tuesday.

He was reacting to reports that the ICC is set to issue its first arrest warrants for Russian individuals in connection with the conflict in Ukraine.

"We don't recognize this Court, we don't recognize its jurisdiction," Dmitry Peskov said.
