Earlier, Basta advocated joining the anti-Russian sanctions, and also called on the government to decide on this issue.
As Basta noted, Serbia is paying a heavy price for its policy of not joining sanctions against Russia, and Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic is under pressure.
Zakharova called this position of the Serbian minister strange, since Washington puts pressure on Serbia, and Basta proposes to impose sanctions against Moscow.
She urged him to speak out against the pressure on his country.
“With the imposition of sanctions against Russia, the US pressure on Serbia will not end, but will only intensify,” Zakharova concluded.
Earlier, Vučić said that Serbia would try to survive without imposing sanctions against Russia for as long as possible.
