SVT has conducted a survey among Västerbotten County's municipal councilors.

It shows that most people are generally positive about wind farms in their municipalities.

But they also demand that in the future the municipalities should be paid for establishments.

The municipal council in Bjurholm is the clearest of all.

- We need to receive significant compensation so we can build infrastructure, otherwise it will be no, she says.

Roland sjögren (KD) is a municipal councilor in Lycksele, he wants the compensation to be up to 30 times higher than today.

- Can be both through property tax but also through increased local involvement from the wind power companies.

Look at Norway and their model.

Not everyone requires compensation

But not all municipal councils see the compensation to the municipality as the most important issue when it comes to not stopping wind power installations.

Lorents Burman (S) is a municipal councilor in Skellefteå.

- Skellefteå municipality today has a large production of renewable energy per capita.

An increased need for energy in Sweden for the future means that Skellefteå municipality is also affected by this.

Now we are revising our master plan for wind power to find possible locations, he says.

The investigation "Investigation into strengthened incentives for expanded wind power" is presented on March 31 and aims to get the municipalities not to stop wind power installations through their municipal veto.

Watch municipal councilor Christina Lidström develop her thoughts on wind power installations in the municipality.
