This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The parties discussed a number of issues on the bilateral agenda and noted the strengthening of the positive dynamics in the development of multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Iran.

“Satisfaction was expressed with the achieved record levels of trade, despite the illegitimate unilateral sanctions against our countries,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The ministers also held a confidential exchange of views on topical regional and international issues.

“Mutual interest in continuing close coordination, including within the framework of upcoming face-to-face contacts between the two ministers, was confirmed,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu earlier announced preparations for a meeting in Moscow between the foreign ministers of Turkey, Russia, Iran and Syria.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov stressed that the meeting participants agreed not to disclose details, and noted that "we must work discretely, on the principles of "quiet diplomacy."
