Pankkak Church is an all-Christian initiative whose purpose is to spread safety and meet people.

The movement is found in several Swedish cities and in Eskilstuna it consists of the Pentecostal Church, the Elim Church and the Folk Church.

Food and conversation

For just over a year, every other Friday between 20:00 and 24:00, they have served pancakes and talked to people on Fristadstorget.

It came about as a backlash to the violence in Eskilstuna.

- It is a symbolic act, a symbolic pancake, says the initiator Alberth Andersson.

More and more volunteers

At the beginning there were only five volunteers, but during the year they have grown to about twenty.

- Now we are one of the largest groups in Sweden, says Alberth Andersson.

In the video above you will hear about the Friday evenings in the square, what they mean and how many pancakes are actually served.
