Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that reaching an agreement between Riyadh and Tehran leading to the resumption of political relations does not mean reaching a solution to all outstanding differences between the two countries.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan added, in press statements, that he is looking forward to meeting Iran's foreign minister soon, based on what was agreed upon, stressing that work will be done to resume diplomatic relations during the next two months.

Earlier Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian described the talks with Saudi Arabia as complex and difficult, but the important thing is that they led to a clear result, after an agreement between the two countries under Chinese auspices.

Abdullahian stressed that the Iranian-Saudi agreement to reactivate diplomatic relations is not directed against any country, and said that the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia serves the interests of the two countries and is in the interest of the countries of the region.

On Friday, Saudi Arabia and Iran announced the resumption of diplomatic relations between them and the reopening of the two embassies within two months, following Chinese-sponsored talks in Beijing, according to a joint statement by the three countries.

This agreement came after Beijing hosted, from March 6 to 10, Saudi-Iranian talks "in response to an initiative by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and in agreement with the leaderships of the Kingdom and the Iranian Republic and their desire to resolve differences," according to a joint tripartite statement.
