Tomorrow the SHL playoffs for IK Oskarshamn will begin.
The team will take on Luleå away in a best-of-three series.
- Luleå is a great team and they were one of the favorites before the season but have had a tough time on the road.
At the same time, we know that we are a good job and we have beaten them before, says Oskarshamn's head coach Martin Filander.
Finished weak
Oskarhamn has been one of the strongest teams since the new year, but in the five games of the regular season, the team has only managed to win a single victory.
- It is mainly our "special teams" that have not worked.
We concede far too many goals in the box play and hardly score any goals at all in the power play.
The hot chain has faded
The successful first chain consisting of Patrik Karlkvist, Antti Suomela and Ahti Oksanen, all of whom are in the top 8 in the regular season scoring league, have also looked quite pale in recent games and have not produced at all as they usually do.
- It had been really tough, but you just have to screw it up.
We will try to put the last matches behind us and go up to Luleå and take home the first match, says Oskarshamns forward Patrik Karlkvist.
