“The council decided that ministers, members of their cabinets and other federal-level officials should not use the TikTok application on their professional electronic devices,” the TASS Security Council said in a statement.
Earlier, the White House urged the US Congress to quickly pass a bill giving the US government the right to ban TikTok.
According to CNN, more than half of US states have previously banned officials from using TikTok.
Prior to this, US Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Brendan Carr said that US authorities should take action to ban TikTok in the country.
