En Kiev, se espera que el secretario general de la ONU, Antonio Guterres, realice su tercer viaje a Ucrania desde que comenzó la guerra, en particular para discutir la ampliación del acuerdo con Rusia sobre las exportaciones de grano ucraniano, informa Afp.

Guterres se reunirá con el presidente ucraniano, Volodímir Zelenski, y el jefe de Naciones Unidas tiene previsto estar de vuelta en Nueva York el jueves, según indicó su portavoz en un breve comunicado recogido por Efe.

El llamado Acuerdo del Mar Negro, que facilita la salida de cereales y otros productos alimentarios ucranianos a los mercados internacionales, ha sido una de las principales iniciativas de la ONU en el marco de la guerra y expirará el próximo 18 de marzo a menos que todas las partes acepten prolongarlo.

Zelenski advierte de que los rusos tras Bajmut "podrían ir a Kramatorsk, podrían ir a Sloviansk"

El presidente ucraniano, Volodimir Zelenski, advirtió este miércoles de que si se tomaba Bajmut, epicentro de combates mortíferos desde hace meses, el ejército ruso tendría "vía libre" para avanzar en el este de Ucrania.

Después de Bajmut, los rusos "podrían ir más lejos. Podrían ir a Kramatorsk, podrían ir a Sloviansk, el camino estaría libre" para ellos "a otras ciudades de Ucrania", dijo el presidente ucraniano en una entrevista con CNN recogida por Afp.

A pesar de la firme defensa de los ucranianos, Rusia ha prometido que luchará hasta tomar Bajmut, afirmando que la ciudad es crucial para su ofensiva en Ucrania.

Bajmut "es un nodo importante (de las líneas) de defensa de los soldados ucranianos en el Donbass", dijo el martes el ministro de Defensa ruso, Sergei Shoigu.

"Su captura permitirá nuevas operaciones ofensivas en profundidad", añadió en una reunión.

Wagner dice haber conquistado toda "la parte oriental" de Bajmut

The head of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner said Wednesday that his troops have taken "the entire eastern part" of the city of Bakhmut, the epicenter of the fighting in eastern Ukraine, reports Afp.

"Wagner units have taken the entire eastern part of Bakhmut, everything east of the Bakhmutka River," Yevgeny Prigozhin said in an audio message broadcast by his press service.
