Overseas Chinese who are attending the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Beijing said in an interview with Chinanews.com that the "Belt and Road" initiative builds an economic and cultural bridge between China and countries and regions along the route, and overseas Chinese will become "bridges of bridges".

Over the past ten years, the "Belt and Road" initiative has attracted more than three-quarters of the world's countries and 32 international organizations to participate, has driven nearly one trillion US dollars in investment, formed more than 3,000 cooperative projects, and created 420,000 jobs for countries along the route. Ji Zhihai, an overseas Chinese who attended the first meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and chairman of the Overseas Chinese Friendship Consultation in Italy, believes that overseas Chinese have lived overseas for a long time. The "Road" initiative has taken root in countries and regions along the route.
"Emotion and culture are the most vital and cohesive sources of energy in the construction of the 'Belt and Road Initiative'. Without exchanges, there will be no business. People-to-people exchanges promote economic and trade cooperation." Ji Zhihai said that Italy signed a memorandum of understanding on the "Belt and Road" initiative with China in 2019 , The trade between the two countries continues to grow, and overseas Chinese promote policy communication, facility connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration, and people-to-people bonds between the two countries.
Zheng Chengyi, an overseas Chinese who attended the first meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and honorary chairman of the Austrian Chinese Federation, said that Austrian Chinese businessmen abide by the laws of the country where they live, provide employment for the local area, and have established a good reputation for the Chinese community.
The business philosophy, management culture, and lifestyle of Chinese businessmen have been recognized by the local area, attracting more local companies to participate in the "Belt and Road" construction.
"Chinese associations, Chinese media and Chinese schools are collectively known as the 'three treasures' of Chinese communities. Overseas Chinese can use these platforms to introduce China to overseas and become 'civil ambassadors' of the 'Belt and Road' initiative." Zheng Chengyi said.
Shi Ganping, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the China Federation of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs, said that all localities should guide and encourage overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese businessmen to take advantage of the advantages of integrating China and foreign countries, strengthen docking cooperation, and participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road" project in the country.
Having lived overseas for many years, Shi Ganping suggested that a communication and cooperation platform connecting Chinese enterprises and overseas Chinese along the “Belt and Road” be established.
