Nablus -

For the tenth day in a row, the perpetrator of the Hawara operation, south of Nablus, remained unknown, until his martyrdom on Tuesday noon, when the occupation army suddenly stormed the Jenin camp, announcing "the assassination of the executor of the Hawara operation, Abdel Fattah Kharousha."

6 Palestinians were killed and others were injured when large military forces, estimated at about 40 military vehicles, backed by special forces, whose soldiers had infiltrated into Jenin camp in civilian clothes, surrounded houses on Mahyoub Street, east of the camp. This force bombed a house with missiles, while helicopters and drones were participating in the attack. .

For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of 6 citizens and the wounding of 26 others by the occupation forces in Jenin camp, three of them seriously. It also said that the occupation forces fired directly at ambulances in Jenin.

Until the day of his martyrdom, no one knew that Khrusha was the perpetrator of the Hawara operation on February 26, during which two Israeli brothers from the "Har Bracha" settlement were killed.

However, some became suspicious of Kharusha's family after he disappeared from the camp on the day of the Hawara operation, as was the last conversation with his wife that afternoon when he told her that he was "going to the noon prayer and looking for a job" that would provide him with a decent living.

The displaced and captive martyr

Abdel-Fattah Kharousha, 49, was born in the Askar camp for Palestinian refugees, east of Nablus, to a family displaced from the city of Lod in the occupied Palestinian interior in 1948, among 9 male brothers and 7 sisters.

His brother Samih was martyred during the first intifada in 1987, after the occupation soldiers shot him near the camp while he was inside his vehicle. He did not surrender, so he ran over a number of soldiers before he was killed.

In the schools of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in the camp, Kharusha received his primary and basic education, and left school to learn the profession of truck driving and face life and hardship in the camp.

Kharousha continued his life as a man committed to his religion and enjoyed the love and respect of all. He became known early on for his affiliation with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which he became one of its leaders in the camp. He then married and had his eldest son, Khaled, Muhammad and Qassam, and two other sisters.

After 2007, the series of arrests against Kharousha by the occupation authorities began. He was arrested several times and spent about 6 years in his prisons, the last of which was 3 years ago, when he was released 2.5 months ago. Kharousha was also not spared from arrests and summons by the Palestinian Authority security services.

Grandfather martyr

2.5 years ago, Kharusha lost his mother, who died while he was in prison, while his father died in 2004. His eldest son Khaled (24 years old) is married and has one child and a girl. As for his middle son Muhammad, the occupation arrested him coinciding with the last arrest of his father, and he spent two years in the occupation prisons.

Amer, the martyr's nephew, says that his uncle is known for his religious commitment inside the camp, and that as a family they did not enjoy living with him much and seeing him, adding to Al-Jazeera Net, "I told him jokingly after his liberation from captivity: You are still a groom, uncle, and you can have one or two children." He replied, " I became a grandfather and now I play with my grandchildren."

And about the exploits of his martyr uncle, Amer says, "All the sweet qualities in him, and although we lost him in the camp 10 days ago, we ruled out that he was the one who did it, and we were surprised at that. He saved himself for his family and worked hard to provide for his children's livelihood after his liberation."

Athlete par excellence

On the authority of the martyr Kharusha, the young Radwan Qatanani, from the Askar camp, says that most of his speech after his recent release was that he did not want to return to prison, and he wished for martyrdom, adding to Al-Jazeera Net, "The martyr was a first-class athlete, and he loved bodybuilding."

And coinciding with the occupation storming the Jenin camp and the liquidation of Kharousha and his comrades, the occupation forces raided the Askar camp and the popular housing areas east of Nablus in a lightning operation and arrested his two sons, Muhammad and Khaled, and severely beat Muhammad in front of his mother and sisters until blood was shed from him.

His wife, Umm Khaled, says - in press statements following his martyrdom - that he told her before leaving the house on the day of the operation that he was going to pray and then look for work, and that since then she has not seen him or heard his voice, addressing all Palestinians, "Bless me, I ask God to accept him, May your glory last, O Nablus, with your men and steadfastness.

After his martyrdom, spontaneous marches were launched inside the Askar camp, and the demonstrators chanted in support of the martyr, and a comprehensive strike was announced tomorrow, Wednesday, in Nablus, to mourn the souls of the martyrs, while his body arrived at Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, to be buried tomorrow.

Al-Qassam Brigades (the military wing of Hamas) mourned the martyrs of Jenin who were killed on Tuesday.
